Grease Lightning!

Yesterday, I went to Shae's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo with family & my friend Ashley (http://www.ashley-trixx.blogspot.com).

Grease is the word! It was fantastic! They changed a bunch of things, like adding new songs, changing the order of songs, location of songs, but I still really liked it :) I know they couldn't just recreate the movie because of technology and stuff. For example, they took out the car race scene between Kenickie and the leader of the other gang. The other gang wasn't even in the play, which was kind of surprising but to show everything between both groups would probably have taken too much time.

The girl who played Sandy was actually in the show "Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods". She was a finalist, and in turn became the understudy. Fortunately for her, unfortunate for the winner, she had to play the part over 60 times on tour when the other girl couldn't (for reasons unknown, lol).

Danny in the play was no John Travolta, but I still really liked this actor. He knew how to portray the right amount of emotion, like while singing at the drive-in, after Sandy rejects him for wanting more than a kiss (if you know what I mean).

I thought it was really neat even before the play started, because the guy who was playing Vince Fontaine came out and sang 3 songs that most of the (older) crowd knew and sang along with. I can't remember what they were but one had a mention of Great Balls of Fire 8-) He was hilarious! I loved his dance moves. He'd be moving across the front of the stage and doing this leg-twisty thing. Wow, sexy! :P He definitely knows how to put on a show.

On a second note, I want to let everyone know that I am writing a story. It is still rough, just started the first chapter 20 minutes ago. But it might actually turn out well, of course I'm hoping it will. I'll be posting each chapter in a blog post, along with regular things to blog about like how I wore my hair today and if my homework actually got done (it would be a first, lol). Anyways, comments are always appreciated. For my story, I'd love some constructive critism. I don't mean saying "You suck! Don't quit your day job!" but more along the lines of "Hey! I like the way you did this but maybe you could work on this." ....if you catch my drift. And I'm sure I'm overestimating how many people actually read this. But dream big, right?

Well, I'm off for now! Until next time, stay chill :)
